Otherwise Perfect

Otherwise Perfect began as a short story in 2006. Over the course of nine years, it changed and grew to finally become the novel it always wanted to be in 2015. The story covers the somewhat taboo subjects of depression, suicide, alcoholism and LGBT issues. At its heart, it is a story of unconditional love.

I put a lot of myself into this novel; I myself have struggled with depression and I know it is not a subject people like to talk about. But I feel that it needs to be talked about, and it needs to be faced. It’s my hope that anyone currently struggling with depression or suicidal thoughts who reads this story will take away from it that life CAN and WILL get better and suicide is never the answer. No matter who you are, you are loved.
